Bathroom Tile Safety
Bathroom tiles. Most of us have them. And a lot of us do not necessarily think about safety when we are dripping wet and moving along the floor. Bathroom falls can be prevented by following a few simple steps. We’ll be looking at a few of them right now. Firstly, the bathroom tiles. There are quite a few good options but we will examine only two of them; Ceramic tiles and Vinyl tiles.
Not all ceramic tiles are made the same. You get the slip-resistant ceramic tiles which would be perfect in a room with leaking taps. And you also get the kind of ceramic tiles that will have you believe that your bathroom turns into an indoor skating rink every time you step out of the bath. Ceramic tiles are stunning and will make any bathroom look amazing, not to mention that they are so easy to clean and maintain. But ask about safety before you buy, get the assurance you need if your bathroom tile choice is ceramic.
If you are worried about falling, vinyl bathroom tiles will be a slightly softer material to land on than ceramic tiles. You will also be able to install them in sheets. There won’t be as many edges to curl up and therefore you prevent an extra layer of hazard to your bathroom. Vinyl is also a little easier on the wallet.
Of course there are other ways to make sure you won’t take a nasty spill in the bathroom. Mop up any water puddle as soon as you see it. You could add a bath mat in front of the bath. If you have any children, teach them not to run in the bathroom and to take small steps and look out for potential dangers such as puddles.
