We’re back to our “Spotlight On…” series and today we shine the spotlight on Ecostrong Bamboo flooring. Bamboo flooring is ideal for commercial properties and looks beautiful in living rooms and dining rooms as well. It is not recommended for the bathroom or other areas with excessive moisture, however. You will find three main styles when it comes to bamboo flooring: vertical, horizontal, and strand woven.
Why Bamboo Floors?
As the name of this range implies, bamboo flooring is eco-friendly and bamboo is quick to grow. In fact, it classifies as a type of grass and, therefore, it is a wonderful alternative for lumber. It is also incredibly durable, allergen-free, and termites will only shrug and ignore it. When it comes to the nitty-gritty, bamboo flooring is easy to install and can be installed on any sub-floor. This type of flooring is also easy to maintain, and stable under both dry and humid conditions, but as we said before, we do not recommend this flooring for bathrooms or other areas of extreme moisture. Ecostrong flooring has a high UV resistance, which helps to keep the floors looking beautiful for longer, even in a room with direct sunlight.
Is It Really Environmentally Friendly?
Yes. In a world where deforestation runs wild, we have to look at alternatives to wood whenever we can. Since bamboo matures within 5 years and the variety used for Ecostrong flooring is not a source of food and habitat for pandas, Ecostrong can boast that it is environmentally friendly in two distinct ways. Ecostrong uses only Mao or Moso bamboo, whereas pandas prefer to eat arrow, black, and water bamboo.
